Professional Office Systems was established in 1988 by Chris Puryear and his wife Laura. We are a family owned business and treat all of our customers as family. Our company started out as a service only company and to this day service remains our #1 priority. Out of necessity we added sales of office equipment to our business after years of only servicing copiers & printers. Today we specialize in marketing our line of remanufactured copiers. We saw a need for offering customers the ability to purchase/lease reliable office equipment and save thousands in the process We do the homework for our customers by studying the market for the most reliable equipment and remanufacturing them to “good as new” condition. I started in business in 1983 as a service technician for a large copier company in Florida and worked my way up to service manager in 2 years. I worked in that position for two years. My wife and I moved to Wilmington with the intention of working with a local company as their service manager. This opportunity did not work out. I decided to use my experience as a service technician and service manager to open my own copier company in 1988.
I have been married to my wife and business partner for 20 years. We have 2 great boys ages 8 & 12. We love to go camping, ride dirt bikes, and go fishing every opportunity we get.

I am a factory trained office equipment technician since 1995. I have spent my professional career becoming expert troubleshooting and repairing copiers, printers, fax machines, and scanners. I also am also proficient at integrating your office network to make printing, scanning, faxing and sharing your documents a quick and simple process. I take pride in giving my customers the very best service possible.
We have been a client of POS for several years. We are extremely satisfied with the products and services provided. The last copier we purchased from them lasted well beyond its normal service life and, hands down, was the best copier we ever had.

We here at Southport Boat Works have been with Professional Office Systems since our company begun in late 2003. They were a great asset in getting us started up with all of our office equipment and still are when the need arises that we require service work or when we need to update a piece of our equipment. Their staff is very professional and helpful with me as I, the one who is called upon when someone can’t figure out the copier.
